The types of electric motors

The types of electric motors

Motors - indispensable component of the transport and handling of automated equipment: conveyors, automated warehouses, trucks, packaging machines and other warehouse equipment.

Typically, these units to choose their own equipment manufacturers, but increasingly it is so that buyers and owners of machines themselves can choose electric power units for the needs of your business depending, for example, on the specific circumstances of individual work sites.

In some cases the company completes the same type of electric motor technology at all of its plants and warehouses that by harmonizing procedures and spare parts to reduce the cost of maintenance. Sometimes motors opt for reasons of the low value.

Asynchronous electric

In warehousing and transport equipment handling the most widely used five types of electric motors:
- DC motors with permanent magnet excitation of;
- asynchronous alternating current motors. They are used in a continuous cycle of the equipment, for example, in conventional conveyor;
- servo (actuators). They work in cars, which must perform precise movements, and move to position the goods on a strictly defined places: in shtabelerah, automated storage systems;
- Linear asynchronous motors. Used in equipment, which is important especially high speed, for example, in sorting machines;
- Motor-rollers (or motor-drums), ie the leading tight rollers, which were inside small electric motors and gearboxes. Used to drive conveyor working periodically.

Previously, warehouse handling equipment loaded DC electric motor excitation of permanent magnets. At present, the machines and automatic completes asynchronous alternating current electric motors, the use of which is constantly expanding.
